At Home for Hounds, care is tailored to each individual dog, their needs and energy levels.
Our guests will enjoy many varied outings exercising with suitably chosen companions in quiet areas of our beautiful countryside on a 1:6 ratio.
We offer a long morning walk or a mmorning and afternoon walk.
Home for Hounds is the absolute highlight of our golden retriever’s week, and he has a good life every day! Each Friday Ottie goes out with his pals to exotic places in the Devon countryside. He loves the other dogs and he loves the people who look after them. He is a generally exuberant dog but his excitement when Jo or Emma comes to collect him is off the Richter scale. Pure joy! I had the pleasure of going out with Jo and the pack one day to Fernworthy and I can easily see why he is so happy there. Open spaces, hills, water, treats and the chance to run and run. He comes home tired. Home for Hounds is such a great business, run by people who love the dogs and know each of them personally. They are incredibly responsible too when out with the group, leaving wherever they go clean, being mindful of others using the trails, and keeping everyone safe. I would give it 5*’s. Ottie would give it 10*.
Home for Hounds has been an extended family for us. Willow jumps out of the car each week and runs in to see everyone…She’s almost 2 and has been a weekly since she was 3 months old. The love, care, fun and attention is 5*.

Home for hounds have looked after my dog (Noki) for over two years from puppy to full grown sausage dog! They have helped to train him, socialize him and look after him beyond my expectations in this time. As a first time dog owner I can honestly say I couldn’t have done it without them and their experienced input has been invaluable. They do pick up and drop offs, they are flexible and always communicate with me – putting my mind at ease whilst working a busy job and knowing my fur baby is being looked after so well. In fact, he loves their doggy day care so much there has been times he will strop if he thinks he’s not going!
